Seventh Son
Seventh Son, by Orson Scott Card. New York: Tor, 1988. MMP.
Winner of the Locus Award, Seventh Son is Card’s imaginative alternate history tale about Alvin Miller, the seventh son of a seventh son, and the Unmaker seeking to destroy him before he can master his mysterious powers. Like many of Card’s works, this book has some truly excellent world-building, compelling characters, and engaging creative takes on magic/technology, even if it gets a little weird with its pseudo-religious commentary (IMHO). Still, a great one from an unquestionable master of his genre.
A near-fine copy with sharp corners and very little wear.
